Mr. Said Al-Hussein holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in MSc Curriculum Development and Educational Studies from the University of Surrey and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) Degree in Psychology and Nursing. He has over twenty-five years of experience working in the health sector as a Psychiatric Nurse, Nurse Educator and Training Manager.
He has expertise in Curriculum development and training systems management, Health Systems Research, Institutional Planning and Management, Facilitation supervision ,project planning and management, Monitoring and Evaluation
Mr. Al-Hussein has worked as a General Nurse, Psychiatric Nurse and was the Principal of the Ankaful Psychiatric Nurses Training School. He was the Head of Training in the Human Resources Development Division of the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service over a period of 13 years.
He was the Manager for the Ghana Malaria Centre; a Partner of the Gates Malaria Partnerships (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, from 2005 to 2010. He has a vast experience as a lead facilitator of Management Science for Health Leadership Training Network; lead consultant in the design of curricula for various health programmes for JHPIEGO, BASICS, PRIME II, and Central University.
He has conducted training needs assessment of health workers at various levels of the health system in Ghana including the University of Ghana, Legon. He was a Lead consultant in the development of training package for Community-Based Agents for Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), He was also a Consultant on Facilitative Supervision on Maternity Care for JHPIEGO and costing of training for PATH, Nigeria for Ministry of Health, Sokoto State.
